McGill University and the Mastercard Foundation partnered in 2013 to launch the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at McGill.

This initiative provides access to world-class university education for academically gifted young leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa.

Over the next ten (10 )years, the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at McGill will welcome Scholars from Sub-Saharan Africa, including some Master’s students.

Some Scholars come from French-speaking nations and get intense English language training before beginning their degree programs, which is unique to McGill.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program aims to establish a globally educated and highly qualified group of future leaders who will return to Africa after graduation to aid in the region’s development.

McGill Scholars’ education is supplemented by a comprehensive support system that includes mentorship, specialized support services, community service activities, and long-term programming that is pertinent to their personal growth.

During their studies, scholars get assistance and support for two internships in their home countries.
