Our mission of at the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is all about delivering a valuable service, establishing strong relationships with our stakeholders, and generating greater results for the province.
The LDB is one of two divisions of government in British Columbia that are in charge of the cannabis and liquor industries. We are responsible for the wholesale distribution of drinking alcohol and non-medical cannabis throughout the province, as well as the well-known retail brand’s BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Our Corporate Loss Prevention and Real Estate divisions are part of the BCLDB’s Corporate Operations. Real Estate oversees all lease, building, remodeling, and facility management operations for all new and current LDB facilities, including the head office, distribution centers, and all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis retail sites. Through physical security management and an investigation team, the Corporate Loss Prevention department protects the protection of all BCLDB assets.
Under the supervision of the Director, Corporate Loss Prevention, this position provides data analysis to the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) based on a variety of inputs, including but not limited to reported incidents and other data involving the LDB Head Office, two distribution centers, and BC Liquor Stores across the province. The role will assist in the reduction of losses and the protection of the LDB’s assets.
A background check is necessary. Working outside of core hours and on weekends may be required.

Position Requirements:
Education and Experience:
A minimum of one year of recent, related experience* in a retail environment.
Recent, related experience must have occurred within the last 5 years.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
Loss Prevention/ Security Experience.
Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) Loss Prevention Certifications (LPC).
Experience in working with CCTV systems.
Experience in Exception Based Reporting Systems and Data Mining.
