Avaaz is an online advocacy organization dedicated to social change. It relies on its technical team to manage the infrastructure and interface, creates and sends more than 2 billion emails each year, allows an average of 40 million operations (including fundraising activities) on the event page each year, and protects member and employee data.
We are looking for a tech executive assistant (similar to acting CTO; also known as TM) for the technical manager to support the long-term technical strategy that is being developed and implemented. Each sub-team (infrastructure, engineering, security, data science) in the technical team is led by a technical director. EA will also participate in some level of support for these leaders, as they report directly to TM. This is a completely remote location.

Secondary Responsibilities: Tech Executive Assistant
Call Dispatch.
Support (collect and organize updates, issues, ideas, expectations).
Send requests to the appropriate leader / sub-team.
Plan team-building activities (team contact, play together).
contact the operations team to resolve contractual and logistical issues.
Recruitment support (requirements).
Preferred Experience and knowledge
More than 2 years of experience supporting senior executives or department leaders, preferably in the technical field.

Ability to work in diverse teams.
Ability to maintain professional judgment when dealing with sensitive issues.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required.
The balance between the two sets of responsibilities above is simple: you will focus on TM support and participate in supporting potential customers because it makes sense to support them. We take work-life balance very seriously and we don’t want you to work overtime by default. We will adjust our expectations to be reasonable based on clearly communicated priorities: we know that we have to give up some things so that the most important things can be delivered.
We highly prefer candidates who work in the Eastern Americas time zone. This does not mean that we restrict your application based on geographic location as long as you can work sustainably in these time zones for a long time, we will consider your application.
Salary and Benefits
Salary varies by location and experience, making it very competitive among leading international NGOs. Specific benefits also vary by location, but they all include 5 weeks of paid vacation, 10 paid vacations per year, home phone and Internet reimbursement, outdoor office/shared reimbursement, and professional development funds.
